Article 64 Information on Financial Instruments, in Royal Decree 217/2008, of 15 February, establishes that “Entities rendering investment services must provide their clients, including potential clients, a general description of the nature and risks of the financial instruments, taking into account, in particular, the client’s classification as either retail or professional. The description must include an explanation of the characteristics of the type of financial instrument in question and the risks inherent to that instrument, in sufficient detail to enable the client to make well-grounded investment decisions.”
